www.ansaldoenergia.comAnsaldo Energia is publishing its first sustainability report. In his letter to stakeholders, Ansaldo Energia CEO Giuseppe Marino presents Ansaldo Energia’s progress on the path of responsibility leading to more sustainable business and a more sustainable future.
Ansaldo Energia has always been committed to sustainable, innovative power generation, ensuring mitigation of environmental impact and more flexible energy generation.
The term sustainable development was first used in “Our Common Future”, the 1987 report of the World Commission on Environment and Development for the United Nations Environment Programme.
Sustainable development is defined as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. In 2015 the UN ratified this definition and outlined 17 “Sustainable Developments Goals”, identifying a new model of a society based on criteria of social, environmental and economic responsibility.
The sustainability report is a document in which the company informs its stakeholders of the social and environmental results generated by the company in the course of its work to achieve a form of development that is more respectful of the needs of people and the environment.
